Where is LEGOLAND® Florida?
LEGOLAND® Florida Resort is in Winter Haven, in Polk County — the same county as Lake Wales. It opened on October 15, 2011, on the grounds of the historic Cypress Gardens, and the resort says it's about 45 minutes from both Orlando and Tampa.
What does the resort include?
- The theme park — 150 acres with more than 50 rides, shows and attractions.
- LEGOLAND® Water Park — a separate water park alongside the theme park.
- Botanical gardens — on the grounds of the former Cypress Gardens.
- On-site hotels — LEGOLAND® Hotel and Pirate Island Hotel, plus the seasonal LEGOLAND® Beach Retreat.
How far is it from Lake Wales?
From the Lake Mabel area of Lake Wales, the drive is about 14–15 minutes, according to our Lakefront Pool Retreat and Poolside Suite listings. That makes it easy to head back for a swim at midday and return for the evening.
Tips for a smoother day
- Buy tickets and check park hours online before you go — they vary by season.
- Arrive at opening time; the first hour is usually the calmest.
- Pack sunscreen, refillable water bottles and a change of clothes for the water rides.
- Plan a midday break back at your stay, then return in the cooler late afternoon.
